Project Overview

This project is part of an on-going joint venture between Durisol (now part of EKHO Infrastructure Solutions) and the Fort Miller Group. Due to New York State’s restrictions for suppliers, we were unable to directly supply the absorptive noise barrier panels. Since the Fort Miller Group is an approved supplier of noise barriers and retaining walls in New York State, they had agreed to partner with us to produce and supply the absorptive noise barrier panels.

A Landmark Bridge Project

This project is part of the 3.9-billion-dollar Mario Cuomo bridge project for New York State. EKHO, in partnership with the Fort Miller Group provided sound absorptive noise barrier panels as well as sound absorptive concrete retaining panels. The EKHO noise barrier panels were used for both the bridge approach spans and a nearby bike path.

Partnership and Production

Since the sound absorptive material was a requirement for this project, Fort Miller Group has agreed to produce the EKHO noise barrier panels at their facility within the United States. EKHO provided quality control oversight, production equipment, and the sound absorptive Durisol material to produce the noise barrier panels.

Installation of the noise barriers and retaining walls is anticipated to start summer 2019, and finish by the end of the year.
