Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls combine engineered backfill, soil reinforcement and a facing system to create a stable reinforced soil structure. The right MSE system depends on project specifications. Soil conditions, loading, available footprint, corrosion exposure, backfill availability, construction sequencing, aesthetics and agency requirements can all influence the final design.
