Learn moreThe I-69 Section 6 Contract 5 project represents a critical upgrade of a key roadway segment to interstate standards, enhancing safety, capacity, and efficiency. The scope included adding lanes, increasing design speed, constructing noise barriers for eligible receptors, and replacing and upgrading a major interstate interchange.
Durisol played a consultative role in this landmark design-build project. Given the massive scope, the contractor opted to design the sound wall system in-house with Durisol’s guidance. Durisol supplied absorptive noise walls for both ground-mounted and structure-mounted applications along the roadway.
Durisol’s noise wall system was the best possible solution beyond noise mitigation – our state approved product met the demanding construction schedule.
The project included the installation of 605,000 square feet of noise barriers, making it the largest single contract in the United States by square footage.
